FAQ

What is your Service Area?

Bonfield, Burks Falls, Corbeil, Golden Valley, Marksay, Mattawa, Nipissing, North Bay, Port Loring, Powassan, South River, Sundridge, Trout Creek, Verner, Warren, and West Nipissing.

Are you able to work on commercial locations?

We are Fully Licensed Limited Systems Water Operators, which means we are qualified to do residential but also commercial water treatment, our technicians are knowledgable and we pride ourselves on our service.

Where will you install our new equipment?

In your home or business we will install your water treatment equipment where space permits, usually close to the pressure tank.

If you have a crawl space, we need 5.5 ft or more of height room for the most commonly installed equipment. If you are concerned about your limited space it’s best to contact us.

Can you remove our old equipment?

Yes, we can remove your equipment. The cost of removal depends on how much equipment needs to be removed.

What maintenance is required?

Maintenance can vary depending on your water parameters and consumption. You could need maintenance every few months, quarterly, or once a year.

Service and Maintenance calls will vary on how many pieces of equipment you have, it can range anywhere from 1 - 3 hours, however it is usually 1-2 hours.

We also perform service on most existing equipment.

What does a maintenance appointment entail?

Maintenance could include visual inspection, confirm or update programming, clean components, replace worn or damaged parts, supply additional parts, supply salt, run operational checks and tests, collect water samples for aesthetic testing, provide tutorials & answer questions, and provide feedback on how the equipment is doing.

How much water demand does our equipment need?

Generally backwashing conditioners require a minimum 5 gal per minute at 20psi for at least 10 minutes. This is not generally an issue but if you are aware of limitations with your well please contact.

Does the equipment need an electrical outlet?

Yes, all water treatment use regular outlets.

The water conditioners do not take up much electricity. The display program is comparable to a clock and while the unit is in backwash it is comparable to a small fan.

How long will our water be off?

Installations typically start in the morning and can potentially last until late afternoon.

When & How often will my equipment backwash for?

We program each unit based on the unique water in your well.

Can I use the water while it's backwashing?

No, it is very important not to use your water. You will draw in the contaminants that cause your fixtures to stain. You can get the GEM Dual-Tank backwashable filter, it allows you to use the water when it is backwashing and cleaning out its media bed.

Will you disinfect our pipes?

Yes, we will disinfect your pipes when we install a UV system. Please let us do this, we do not want the water to be chlorinated before we arrive at your home or business. Let us take care of this for you, we understand the dosage and our method will not affect your well.

Why does our equipment sound like it's constantly running?

If the water treatment equipment is not in regeneration, please contact us.

Why has the brine (salt) tank overflowed?

A common reason for it to overflow is a damaged brine valve. Other factors factors could cause the brine tank to overflow as well. Please contact us.

Why wont the salt level go down?

One of the most common reason is that a salt bridge has formed in the bottom layer of salt, which is preventing water from dissolving any more salt. To test if this is the cause, pour water into the brine tank. If the salt bridge is in contact with the water it will dissolve and your brine tank should go back to normal. Do not add too much water at once because the salt could drop and cause the brine tank to overflow. If that doesn’t fix it, please contact us.
